Basketball Game Preview: Smith Valley Bulldogs vs. Virginia City Muckers

The Smith Valley Bulldogs will face off against the Virginia City Muckers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Smith Valley will be strutting in after a win while Virginia City will be coming in after a defeat.

Smith Valley will bounce into Friday's game after beating Coleville, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Smith Valley walked away with a 51-40 victory over Coleville on Saturday. The score was all tied up 18-18 at the break, but the Bulldogs were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Virginia City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against Pyramid Lake, falling 72-19. The matchup marked the Muckers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Virginia City saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tesla Turley posted 12 points.

Virginia City's loss dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Smith Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.
