Basketball Recap: Nardin Academy Gators vs. North Tonawanda Lumberjacks
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Nardin Academy Gators ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They escaped with a win against North Tonawanda by the margin of a single free throw, 47-46. The win was some much needed relief for Nardin Academy as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Kara Krupski was a one-man wrecking crew for Nardin Academy as she scored 25 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Krupski has scored all season. Emily Gorman was another key contributor, scoring five points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Nardin Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for North Tonawanda, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nardin Academy will take on the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cardinal O'Hara will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak. As for North Tonawanda, they will be playing at home against the Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kenmore West and the Lumberjacks are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
