Baseball Recap: North Port Takes a Loss

North Port fell victim to Port Charlotte and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Port Charlotte Pirates, falling 12-0. Having soared to a lofty 29 runs in the game before, the Bobcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

North Port saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wes Stines, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Stines is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stolen at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, North Port fell to 2-1. As for Port Charlotte, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Coming up, North Port will challenge DeSoto County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Port Charlotte, they will face off against Canterbury at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
