Volleyball Recap: Calvary Day School Cougars vs. Greensboro Panthers

It was a proper cat-fight when Calvary Day School took on Greensboro on Thursday. The Cougars fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 3-2. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2021.

Calvary Day School wouldn't go down easily and took Greensboro into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-27, 25-20, 25-18, 17-25, 15-13.

Olivia Craig paced Calvary Day School's offense, picking up 20 kills. Craig got some help from Reagan Reece and her 41 assists. Finally, Craig was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high six blocks.

Calvary Day School dropped their record down to 14-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Greensboro, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 21-5.

Calvary Day School didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Winston Salem Christian on the 3rd. As for Greensboro, they will head out to square off against Greensboro Day School at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
