Dove Creek and Gilpin County squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Dove Creek had to settle for second. They fell 41-29 to the Gilpin County Eagles. The Bulldogs' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Dove Creek still got an impressive performance from Taylor Barry, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 12 points and three steals. Barry has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Faith Ramsey was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 21 points and ten steals for Gilpin County. Ramsey continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Makenzie Marr, who posted eight points.

Dove Creek's loss dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Gilpin County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

Dove Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gilpin County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 49-23 defeat against Sanford on the 8th.
