Basketball Recap: Jackson County Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Jackson County won the last time they faced Winder-Barrow and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Jackson County Panthers took down the Winder-Barrow Bulldoggs 49-35. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 186th, while the Bulldoggs are ranked 379th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jackson County has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Winder-Barrow, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-15.

Jackson County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Clarke Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Winder-Barrow, they will take on Loganville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
