Basketball Game Preview: Heartland Lutheran Red Hornets vs. Silver Lake Mustangs

The Heartland Lutheran Red Hornets are taking a road trip to challenge the Silver Lake Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Heartland Lutheran is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Riverside on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Heartland Lutheran was dealt a 70-37 defeat at the hands of Riverside. The Red Hornets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-15.

Meanwhile, Silver Lake hadn't done well against Blue Hill recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Silver Lake managed a 37-31 victory over Blue Hill. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Heartland Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Silver Lake, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

Heartland Lutheran suffered a grim 44-24 defeat to Silver Lake in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Heartland Lutheran avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
