Preview: Tonasket Tigers vs. Kettle Falls Bulldogs
After three games on the road, Tonasket is heading back home. They will take on the Kettle Falls Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Tonasket focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 81-47, which was the final score in Tonasket's tilt against Lake Roosevelt. Tonasket has not had much luck with Lake Roosevelt recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite their defeat, Tonasket saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kristian Jones, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, was perhaps the best of all. Jones is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bradon Prock, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, even though Davenport scored an imposing 66 points on Saturday, Kettle Falls still came out on top. Kettle Falls snuck past Davenport with a 71-66 win. The victory was just what Kettle Falls needed coming off of a 75-55 loss in their prior matchup.
Tonasket's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-10. As for Kettle Falls, their win bumped their record up to 16-8.
Things could have been worse for Tonasket, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-45 loss to Kettle Falls in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Tonasket avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
