Football Recap: Wakefield Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Wakefield extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were beaten by the Leesville Road Pride 56-0. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Pride are ranked 30th).

As for Leesville Road, their victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. That looming 56-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Leesville Road was led to victory by Damacio Cueto and Michael Ramsey. Cueto threw for 119 yards and two TDs, while Ramsey rushed for 84 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries. The dominant performance also gave Cueto a new career-high in rushing yards (55).

Coming up, Wakefield will square off against Enloe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Leesville Road, they will take on Athens Drive at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pride will be up against the Jaguars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39.25 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
