Basketball Recap: Arthur County Skates Past Sioux County with Ease

Arthur County's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They breezed past the Sioux County Warriors to the tune of 58-26. The victory continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won six in a row.

Arthur County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Talan Storer, who went 8-for-16 on his way to 20 points. Arthur County is 2-1 when Storer posts 15 or more points, but 3-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Storer, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 boards.

Arthur County was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 assists per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 9.

Defeat or not, Sioux County got some senior leadership from Josh Perez and Logan Monroe. Perez posted eight points along with ten rebounds and three steals, while Monroe earned nine points. Another player making a difference was Gilberto Hernandez, who put up no points in addition to nine boards and three steals.

Arthur County's victory bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Sioux County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Arthur County has already played their next matchup, a 59-54 win against Potter-Dix on the 14th. As for Sioux County, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Crawford at 5:00 p.m.
