Soccer Game Preview: Oakcrest vs. Seton

The Oakcrest Chargers will head out on the road to challenge the Seton Conquistadors at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Oakcrest is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Virginia's top teams: Trinity Christian, who was ranked 12th at the time (Oakcrest was ranked second). The Chargers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gryphons on Tuesday. Considering the last time Oakcrest couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

Meanwhile, Seton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Trinity at Meadow View.

Seton's loss dropped their record down to 0-8-2. As for Oakcrest, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-4-1.

Oakcrest took their victory against Seton when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 5-1 score. In that matchup, the Chargers amassed a halftime lead of 3-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
