Mesquite is 8-1 against Marcos de Niza since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Wildcats will host the Padres at 5:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Mesquite is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Cactus Shadows just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to the Falcons.

Meanwhile, Marcos de Niza lost 3-0 to Sunnyslope on Thursday.

While Marcos de Niza was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Sunnyslope's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-16, 25-19.

Marcos de Niza has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Mesquite, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.

Everything went Mesquite's way against Marcos de Niza in their previous matchup last Tuesday, as Mesquite made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Padres have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
