Softball Recap: Vandalia Wins Going Away Against Ramsey

Vandalia barely beat Ramsey the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Vandals blew past the Rams 11-4 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Vandals in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won five in a row.

Madison Lupton was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Ollie Whitehead was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

Vandalia's victory bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Ramsey, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vandalia will host Litchfield at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ramsey, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Martinsville at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bluestreaks have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
