Basketball Recap: The Young Women's Leadership School of Astoria Takes Down Clinton School in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and The Young Women's Leadership School of Astoria had no trouble coming through when it counted. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Clinton School 49-47. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Phoenix also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2019.

Loss or not, Clinton School got some senior leadership from Alessandra Stotz and Kate Stanley. Stotz dropped a double-double with ten points and 21 rebounds, while Stanley almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine boards. Stotz has been hot, having posted ten or more rebounds the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Charley Luckman, who posted eight points and seven boards.

The Young Women's Leadership School of Astoria's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Clinton School, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-11.

As of now, neither The Young Women's Leadership School of Astoria nor Clinton School have any future games scheduled.
