Baseball Game Preview: Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders vs. Oneida Indians

The Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders will take on the Oneida Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Gatlinburg-Pittman is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Gatlinburg-Pittman is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering West Greene just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against the Buffaloes, falling 11-4.

Gatlinburg-Pittman saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aaron Johnson, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Oneida and Harriman, and Harriman kept the tradition alive. The Indians took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Devils on Friday.

Gatlinburg-Pittman's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Oneida, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Gatlinburg-Pittman couldn't quite finish off Oneida in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 21-19. Can the Highlanders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
