Softball Recap: Grimsley Comes Up Short

Grimsley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 23-0 to the Northwest Guilford Vikings, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Whirlies of the 19-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Grimsley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Northwest Guilford, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Grimsley will head out to face off against Western Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grimsley has given up an average of 22.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Northwest Guilford, they will host Page at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
