Recap: Houston Adventist Academy vs. The Covenant Preparatory School Knights
If Houston Adventist Academy were feeling good off their 63-35 takedown of the Briarwood Mustangs back in December of 2023, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The New Year welcomed Houston Adventist Academy with a 78-48 whooping from The Covenant Preparatory School on Thursday. Houston Adventist Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as The Covenant Preparatory School apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, Houston Adventist Academy still got an impressive performance from Ottis Crudup III , who scored 28 points along with eight rebounds. Crudup III scored a full 58.3% of Houston Adventist Academy's points, the 11th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Nate Morrison was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Houston Adventist Academy's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 6-5. As for The Covenant Preparatory School, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Houston Adventist Academy will take on Lifestyle Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lifestyle Christian is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. The Covenant Preparatory School won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Covenant Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th. Covenant Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
