Preview: McCallum Knights vs. Travis Rebels
McCallum is 8-2 against Travis since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The McCallum Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Travis Rebels at 8:00 p.m. McCallum knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Travis likes a good challenge.
McCallum scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Eastside Early College at home to the tune of 93-51. The result was nothing new for McCallum, who have now won seven contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, Travis took a serious blow against Cedar Creek on Friday, falling 77-43. While losing is never fun, Travis can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1283rd, while Cedar Creek is ranked 184th).
McCallum has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Travis, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-10.
McCallum strolled past Travis when the teams last played back in February by a score of 58-44. Will McCallum repeat their success, or does Travis have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
