Basketball Recap: Harnett Central Takes a Loss

Harnett Central lost against Pine Forest back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Harnett Central Trojans were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 55-54 to the Pine Forest Trojans. Harnett Central's defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Harnett Central lost, don't look at Braydon Temple. Despite the final result, he went 9 of 16 en route to 20 points and six steals. What's more, Temple also posted a 56% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in November of 2024. DJ Brown was another key player, putting up nine points.

Harnett Central now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Pine Forest, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.

Looking ahead, Harnett Central will take on Triton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Triton's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 games. As for Pine Forest, they will face off against Overhills at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
