Basketball Game Preview: South Columbus Stallions vs. West Columbus Vikings

South Columbus hasn't had much luck against West Columbus recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The South Columbus Stallions will welcome the West Columbus Vikings at 7:30 p.m. West Columbus took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on South Columbus, who comes in off a win.

South Columbus is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 71-60 win over Johnsonville on Monday. While the Stallions didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, West Columbus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 72-34 defeat at the hands of West Bladen. The Vikings were down 56-31 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

South Columbus has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.2 points per game. As for West Columbus, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

South Columbus came up short against West Columbus when the teams last played back in February, falling 71-58. Can South Columbus avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
