Eastern Hancock has gone 6-1 against Randolph Southern recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. Meanwhile, Randolph Southern might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Cambridge City Lincoln an easy 71-48 win. The Rebels have struggled against the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Eastern Hancock will need focus on slowing down Ronnie Dotson, one of several Randolph Southern players who made an impact when they last played. He had 15 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Dotson a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Donavon Shinaver, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Randolph Southern smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.
Eastern Hancock's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Randolph Southern, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Eastern Hancock has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.4 boards per game. However, it's not like Randolph Southern struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.5 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
