Basketball Preview: Hulett Devils vs. Edgemont Moguls
Hulett is 0-6 against the Moguls since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Hulett Devils are on the road again and plays the Edgemont Moguls at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Edgemont took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Hulett, who comes in off a win.
Even though Hulett has not done well against the Buckaroos recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Hulett came out on top against the Buckaroos by a score of 41-29. The victory was just what Hulett needed coming off of a 61-18 loss in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Edgemont was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 35-31 to the Irrigators. Edgemont has struggled against the Irrigators recently, as their matchup on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their loss, Edgemont saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Hadley Hollenbeck, who scored seven points along with 13 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelyn Lauritsen, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Hulett has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. As for Edgemont, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.
Hulett was taken down by the Moguls 55-24 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Hulett, Peyton Ostenson (who scored 15 points along with six steals and five assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
