Basketball Recap: Palisade Takes a Loss

Palisade and Thompson Valley squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Palisade had to settle for second. They came up short against the Thompson Valley Eagles, falling 41-21. The game marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Palisade lost, don't look at Delaney Wright. Despite the final result, she went 5-for-10 on her way to 10 points and seven boards.

Thompson Valley was led to victory by Justee Durtsche and Mekayla Macias. Durtsche shot 42% from the field to rack up 11 points and six rebounds, while Macias went 5-for-12 en route to 13 points and five boards. Penny Gilbert was another key player, putting up eight points.

Palisade's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Thompson Valley, they pushed their record up to 17-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Palisade does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Thompson Valley, they will take on Mead at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mead is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.3 points per game this season.
