Football Recap: Vianney Golden Griffins vs. Marquette Mustangs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Vianney can now relate to. They fell just short of the Marquette Mustangs by a score of 23-20 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Golden Griffins have suffered since September 29, 2023.

Despite the defeat, Vianney saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Robert Eatherton rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns. That's the most rushing yards Eatherton has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Smith, who picked up 115 receiving yards and a touchdown.
