Baseball Game Preview: Crater Comets vs. Thurston Colts

Crater is 0-10 against Thurston since May of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Comets will host the Colts at 5:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.

Thurston will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Crater extended their winning streak to five on Saturday. The Comets were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over Churchill. The Comets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by six runs or more this season.

The home team had won the previous two meetings between Thurston and Eagle Point, and Thurston kept the tradition alive. The Colts put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 16-7 win on Saturday.

Crater's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Thurston, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Crater couldn't quite finish off Thurston in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 and fell 4-2. Can the Comets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
