Carver Vo-Tech suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were beaten by City College 67-25. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Carver Vo-Tech in their matchups with City College: they've now lost three in a row.
In what's become a running theme this season, Poly gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They blew past Digital Harbor 70-9 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Poly has posted since December 5, 2023.
Poly's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alexis Smothers, who scored 12 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smothers has scored all season. Brianna Pope was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Carver Vo-Tech's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.0 points per game. As for Poly, their victory bumped their record up to 12-0.
Carver Vo-Tech was taken down by Poly 56-5 in their previous matchup back in January of 2017. Can Carver Vo-Tech avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
