Hunt came tearing into Tuesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Fike by a score of 60-51. Given Hunt's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while Fike is ranked 512th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jordan Scott and Austin Joyner were among the main playmakers for Hunt as the former scored 16 points and the latter scored 21 points. Another player making a difference was Na'sir Hines, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, C.B. Aycock didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Smithfield-Selma on Friday, but they still walked away with a 65-59 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for C.B. Aycock.
Hunt is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for C.B. Aycock, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.
