Baseball Recap: Barbers Hill's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

Thursday just wasn't the day for Barbers Hill's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kingwood Mustangs on Thursday. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Bridger Thomas was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Barbers Hill saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Garcia, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that Garcia hit this season.

Even though they lost, Barbers Hill hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive games.

The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 8-2. As for Kingwood, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.

Coming up, Barbers Hill will square off against Pearland at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Kingwood, they are taking a road trip to take on Clear Falls at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
