Baseball Recap: Marion Center's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Marion Center had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Penns Manor Comets on Monday, sneaking past 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Stingers have posted since April 22, 2024.

Trent Slovinsky spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up nine Ks. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Marion Center is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-14 otherwise.

At the plate, Marion Center saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Camden Rising, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Marion Center's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-13 and their overall record up to 3-15. As for Penns Manor, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-15.

Marion Center didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-7 loss against Purchase Line on the 12th. Penns Manor does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
