Baseball Game Preview: North Catholic Trojans vs. Hampton Talbots

For the second straight game, North Catholic will face off against Hampton. The Trojans will be playing at home against the Talbots at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Catholic's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Hampton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

North Catholic fell victim to Hampton and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Talbots. That's two games in a row now that the Trojans have lost by exactly four runs.

Caden Williams was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, North Catholic saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josef Safar, who went 1-for-2 with one triple. That triple was Safar's first of the season.

The win (which was Hampton's fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-8. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for North Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
