Basketball Recap: Lincoln Northeast Takes a Loss

Lincoln Northeast played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Papillion-LaVista South Titans, falling 69-45. The Rockets have struggled against the Titans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Lincoln Northeast lost, don't look at Brynna Renard. Despite the final result, she went 8-for-14 to rack up 19 points in addition to six rebounds and four blocks. Renard is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games she's played. Aylin Negrete also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.

Papillion-LaVista South's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Maizey Macke, who went 6-for-13 en route to 14 points and five steals. Another player making a difference was Charlee Solomon, who posted seven points and six steals.

Lincoln Northeast's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Papillion-LaVista South, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-13.

Lincoln Northeast has already played their next game, a 52-34 victory against Fremont on the 15th. As for Papillion-LaVista South, they will head out to square off against Millard West at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Millard West will roll in looking for their 19th straight win, something Papillion-LaVista South surely won't give up without a fight.
