Baseball Recap: Mitchell Takes a Loss

Mitchell came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 12-3 to the Springs Valley Blackhawks. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Parker Felton was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

Mitchell now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Springs Valley, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mitchell will head out to square off against Corydon Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Springs Valley, they will take on Barr-Reeve at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Blackhawks surely won't give up without a fight.
