Basketball Recap: Penobscot Valley Comes Up Short

Penobscot Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 38-30 to the Stearns Minutemen. The game marked the Howlers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Penobscot Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Stearns, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4.

Penobscot Valley and Piscataquis will round out the year against one another at at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Penobscot Valley is facing Piscataquis at the right time seeing as Piscataquis is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Stearns will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Southern Aroostook at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Southern Aroostook will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Stearns surely won't give up without a fight.
