Volleyball Recap: Natalie Cook and Rubie Kauffman Secure Win for Winfield

Winfield had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the St. Albans Red Dragons by a score of 3-1 on Monday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Winfield had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-12, 25-12, 25-16.

Winfield was led to victory by Rubie Kauffman and Natalie Cook. Kauffman had four digs and three aces, while Cook had 15 digs and five aces. That's the most aces Kauffman has posted since back in September.

They weren't the only good servers: Winfield was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Winfield is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 35-12-2 record this season. As for St. Albans, their defeat dropped their record down to 26-19-1.

As of now, neither Winfield nor the Red Dragons have any future games scheduled.
