Softball Recap: Moniteau Has No Trouble Against Lakeview

Moniteau had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against the Lakeview Sailors on Friday as they made off with a 9-2 win.

Lexi Mcghee was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Mcghee was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Lily Staab was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Danilynn Wallace was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Moniteau's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Lakeview, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Moniteau and Lakeview could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Warriors (ranked 457th) will meet Cranberry Area (ranked 97th) at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Lakeview will take on Cambridge Springs at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (512 vs. 124).
