Basketball Game Preview: Northside - Pinetown Panthers vs. Lejeune Devil Pups

The Northside - Pinetown Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the Lejeune Devil Pups at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Northside - Pinetown has four straight wins, Lejeune has nine straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Friday, Northside - Pinetown blew past Jones, posting a 65-25 victory. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 25 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Lejeune had to suffer through a 63-32 loss at the hands of Southside.

Despite the loss, Lejeune saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Madison McQueen posted 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals. McQueen is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tiara Davis, who put up nine points and six boards.

Lejeune's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Northside - Pinetown, their win bumped their record up to 13-1.

Everything came up roses for Northside - Pinetown against Lejeune in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 68-28 victory. Will Northside - Pinetown repeat their success, or does Lejeune have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
