Football Recap: Maud Cardinals vs. Overton Mustangs
Maud was the 32-20 winner over Overton when they last played one another back in November of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Maud Cardinals had to suffer through a 40-6 loss at the hands of the Overton Mustangs. The defeat leaves the Cardinals without a win on the season.
Overton's receiving core played a big role in the win, headlined by Bryce Still and Jayden Edwards. Still threw for 354 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75.9% of his passes while Edwards picked up 183 receiving yards and four touchdowns. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: Edwards now posted 120 or more in the last five games he's played dating back to last season.
Maud's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Overton, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
