Volleyball Recap: Wharton Takes a Loss

Wharton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 37th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the El Campo Ricebirds, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Ricebirds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-4, 25-9, 25-9.

Wharton's loss dropped their record down to 0-20. As for El Campo, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 24-11.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Wharton will square off against rival Bay City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, El Campo is set to face off against their familiar foe Brazosport at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
