River Valley waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Tonopah Valley Phoenix with a sharp 15-2 victory. The Dust Devils have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Phoenix, too.

Sophia Reyes was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

In other batting news, River Valley got a massive performance out of Bella Navarro, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave Navarro a new career-high. Lovie Phan was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

River Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .767. They are undefeated (11-0) when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

River Valley's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Tonopah Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. River Valley will take on Highland Prep at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Dust Devils are facing the Honey Badgers at the right time seeing as the Honey Badgers are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Tonopah Valley, they will face off against ALA - West Foothills at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
