Baseball Recap: Panther Valley Gets the Win

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contest, Panther Valley brought some dynamite into their most recent match. They never let the Notre Dame Spartans get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won six in a row.

Brody Breiner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Logan Fisher, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Connor Penberth, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Panther Valley's win bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Notre Dame, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season.

Panther Valley will square off against Williams Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. Notre Dame does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
