Softball Recap: Rio Mesa Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Rio Mesa's offense. They lost 8-0 to the Marina Vikings on Wednesday. The Spartans' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Rio Mesa now has a losing record of 8-9-1. As for Marina, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

Rio Mesa will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Buena at 3:30 p.m. on the 14th. As for Marina, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 1-0 victory against Los Altos on the 1st.
