Basketball Recap: Andruw Castellanos' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Norwalk over Rio Hondo Prep

Norwalk has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-43 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rio Hondo Prep Kares. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Lancers have suffered since December 3rd.

Norwalk's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andruw Castellanos, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards. Diego Morales was another key player, putting up eight points and five rebounds.

Norwalk's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Rio Hondo Prep, they moved to 1-4 with that win, which also ended their 13-game losing streak.

Norwalk and Valley Christian will round out the year against one another at at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Rio Hondo Prep, they will take on Baldwin Park in a tournament on Thursday.
