Westran couldn't quite topple Mark Twain on Monday, but it was still a huge improvement compared to the 18-run defeat they took when the two last played. The Westran Hornets blew past the Mark Twain Tigers 9-2. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won seven matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Kylee Hayes was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits. Hayes was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
