Basketball Recap: Mt. Pleasant Starts Season with Win Against Huntland

Mt. Pleasant took care of business in their home opener on Thursday. They walked away with a 70-59 win over the Huntland Hornets. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Mt. Pleasant was led to victory by Jadon Wilson and Zion Hollis. Wilson dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Hollis dropped a double-double with 23 points and 12 boards. Those 11 boards gave Wilson a new career-high. Laik Schang was another key player, putting up five points in addition to six assists and three steals.

Mt. Pleasant will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Battle Creek at 7:30 p.m. on December 1. As for Huntland, they will take on Grace Christian Academy in a tournament on Monday.
