Volleyball Recap: Calabasas Coyotes vs. Westlake Warriors

Calabasas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Westlake Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

Ramina Homayoun paced Calabasas' offense, picking up 12 kills. Homayoun got some help from Victoria Torrence and her 16 assists. Torrence was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Calabasas' defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Westlake, they moved to 8-7 with that victory, which also ended their four-match losing streak.

Calabasas and Westlake could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Coyotes will challenge Agoura at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (563 vs. 106). Meanwhile, Westlake (ranked 229th) will meet Oaks Christian (ranked 14th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
