 The McGill-Toolen Yellowjackets will take on the Spanish Fort Toros at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. McGill-Toolen knows how to get  points on the board -- the  squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Spanish Fort likes a good challenge.
McGill-Toolen will bounce into Friday's   matchup after  beating St. Paul's Episcopal, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Yellowjackets were the clear victors by  a  41-17 margin over the Saints on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won four games by 24  points or more  so far this season.

 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McGill-Toolen to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Ladarien Miller, who rushed for 125 yards and three  scores. That's the most  rushing touchdowns  Miller has posted since back in August.  Blane Barre was another key player, rushing for 86 yards and one  TD on only nine carries.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Spanish Fort and Gulf Shores, and Gulf Shores kept the tradition alive. The Toros fell  24-19 to the Dolphins last Friday. Despite 125 more yards than the Dolphins, the Toros couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
McGill-Toolen will have to contain  Justin 'JuJu' Bonner as he made an impact in Spanish Fort's last game. He rushed for 151 yards and a pair of  touchdowns on only 14 carries. Bonner's longest rush was for an impressive 63 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
 Don't try to pin the team's loss on the defense: they kept the trenches locked down and allowed a mere 3.5 yards per carry. The team can thank  Anderson Butterworth for the heroic effort on defense: he. This was only their first loss (out of three games) when  they shut down the run game so well.

The  road  victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.7 points on average over those games. As for Spanish Fort, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
 McGill-Toolen didn't have too much breathing room in their  contest against Spanish Fort  in their previous meeting  back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with  a  20-14 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Toros'  EJ King, who rushed for 98 yards and one  score on only nine carries.
