MaxPreps Top 50 high school football scores: No. 2 North Shore beats No. 17 Shadow Creek

Auburn-bound Dematrius Davis leads North Shore to 38-21 win over Shadow Creek.

In the biggest game of the year so far No. 2 North Shore (Houston) beat No. 17 Shadow Creek (Pearland) 38-21 to win its 16th consecutive contest. Dematrius Davis finished the night with two scores and Class of 2022 cornerback Denver Harris had a huge game with two interceptions, and one was a pick-six. 

There were three other Top 50 matchups this week.

No. 35 Colquitt County (Moultrie, Ga.) hosted No. 33 Valdosta (Ga.) and it did not go well for head coach Rush Propst in his return to Mack Tharpe Stadium. The Packers won 24-10 as the Wildcats were without 2021 USC commit Jake Garcia for the second consecutive game.

No. 21 Denton Ryan (Texas) beat No. 45 Arlington Martin (Texas) at AT&T Stadium (Arlington), 47-24. 2021 Texas commit Ja'Tavion Sanders scored two touchdowns on offense and had a pick-six on defense.



No. 14 Corner Canyon (Draper, Utah) won its 33rd straight game beating No. 47 Lone Peak (Highland, Utah) 35-25 on Thursday. They outscored the Knights 35-12 after trailing 13-0 in the first quarter and Jaxson Dart accounted for all five touchdowns.

No. 1 IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) improved to 3-0 with a dominant 45-14 win over Ravenwood (Brentwood, Tenn.) in its first out-of-state game of the season. Up next for the Ascenders is Life Christian Academy (Chester, Va.) on Oct. 3.

There were a couple of upsets this week as Lovejoy (Ga.) beat No. 27 North Gwinnett (Suwanee, Ga.) and No. 48 Brownsburg (Ind.) lost in overtime against Westfield (Ind.).
