Basketball Recap: Archbishop Curley Takes a Loss

Archbishop Curley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a hard 57-39 fall against the McDonogh Eagles.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McDonogh to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carlos Ferguson, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 boards. The dominant performance also gave Ferguson a new career-high in blocks (three). Another player making a difference was Bj Hopkins, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 19 points.

Archbishop Curley's loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Archbishop Curley will head out to challenge Mount St. Joseph at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for McDonogh, they will challenge Concordia Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
