For the first time this season, Nyack will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Albertus Magnus Falcons at 4:30 p.m. Nyack will be strutting in after a win while Albertus Magnus will be coming in after a loss.
Nyack's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Port Chester as they made off with a 15-0 victory. Considering the Red Hawks' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Thomas Giardina

03/27/24 vs Greeley | 2 |
Thomas Giardina made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. Giardina was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Nyack got a massive performance out of Nate Cantor, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave Cantor a new career-high. Devin Bierfeldt was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Nyack always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .657. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Port Chester only posted an OBP of .167.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Albertus Magnus' offense. They lost 8-0 to Tappan Zee on Tuesday.
Albertus Magnus saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Derek Sullivan, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Albertus Magnus' defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Nyack, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Nyack couldn't quite get it done against Albertus Magnus when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 11-8. Can the Red Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
