Basketball Recap: Blake Hansen's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Columbia over Skyview

Columbia was the 73-60 winner over Skyview when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Columbia Wildcats fell 70-62 to the Skyview Hawks on Friday.

Columbia's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Blake Hansen, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Hansen's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Tavin Jones, who posted 13 points and five assists.

Columbia has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points over those games. As for Skyview, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbia will challenge Emmett at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Skyview, they will take on Caldwell at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
